Big Battery Smartphones – phones with big battery capacity and the reasons for their rise

When power banks came into our lives for the first time, everyone, including me, welcomed this wonderful new convenience. Suddenly I came to the realization that I was always living on the edge of mobile battery fully drained. The power banks made it glaringly apparent that our mobile phones could get switched off anytime because the battery runs out quite fast. Very soon it looked like people will carry a power bank with them just the way they carry headphones, and it will become a de rigueur accessory, a part and parcel of the mobile phone.

But, what happened was something else altogether. Smartphone manufacturers read the signs and started to come up with phones that had a battery that would last a day and even longer, that too under heavy usage. In fact a brand like Asus created space in its line-up of phones for a smartphone with a giant battery - Asus Zenfone 3 Max.

Frankly the big battery phenomenon is something that has intrigued me, and I came up with a few points, after a considerable amount of research and analysis about this whole big battery smartphone thingy.

Big battery smartphones and human nature

Imagine that you, a bit time gaming enthusiast or a movie buff who can’t stay without movies, have to go on a 48 hour train journey. You are now given a choice of carrying a phone with a 2500 mah battery along with a 20,000 mah fully charged power bank or a phone with 5000 mah battery and the same power bank.

Which one will you choose?

Well, I would definitely go in for the second option since I can watch more movies or play heavier games without charging my phone for at least 36 hours and when the battery does get drained, then I know it is to be done only once. That means the pain of charging a battery goes down by quite a lot for me. This seems to be the insight that smartphone manufacturers have taken into account, and they are going to ride the trend and leverage it to the fullest.

What’s so big about the battery

A phone like Xiaomi Redmi 3S with a simple 5 inch HD display and 2 GB Ram is not something that will make me crave for it since I know that its predecessor almost had the same specs. Then what is it about the phone that the company firmly believes would attract a substantial segment of customers? Is it the new snapdragon 430 octa-core processor? Nah, not at all. Then what?

Well, it is the 4100 mah battery that makes it really awesome for my heavy day to day usage. The battery will last no matter how heavy my smartphone usage, and that is where Redmi 3S is going to score big.

The burden of carrying a power bank every day

We are always ready for a Saturday night out with friends, and we have to be ready for a late night in office. That happens and we are fine with that but what is not nice at all is to not be able to make an important phone call, call a cab or contact someone when you are in a spot, at the end of the day, because our smartphone battery died out. It is very important that our smartphones does not ditch us.

Especially with our frequent wi-fi usage, Internet data usage and almost continuous meddling with our smartphones, the battery does drain out all too frequently. The simple solution is to carry a fully charged power bank, but that is a real pain. Who would want to carry along a power bank every day.

It is to rid us of the burden of a power bank, that big battery smartphones are making a comeback.

A clear example is the big battery smartphone Asus Zenfone 3 Max, which has been specifically designed and launched to rid us of the burden of carrying a power bank.

Jio is everlasting but what about your smartphone’s battery

Jio has suddenly made the consumer worry free when it comes to internet data and its cost. However, using internet data on your smartphones consumes quite a lot of battery. Here again we find that a big battery smartphone will make leveraging Jio really worthwhile.

So, today, a big battery smartphone can be really useful. I would like to conclude by saying that if you are looking for a big battery smartphone then the Asus Zenfone 3 Max with 5000 mah battery is definitely your best choice today. However, if you want to go in for a small screen smartphone, then I will suggest that you go in for the Xiaomi Redmi 3S with a 5 inch HD display and a 4100 mah battery.

Enjoy the return of big.
