Vivo IPL 2017 is successfully running, with the viewers, on or off the ground liking the kind of thrills that every match is producing. And in spite of Vivo getting a grand representation in the Indian market through IPL, it is leaving no stone unturned to come up with good phones that have fantastic specs with a price that would not make a hole in one’s pocket.
The best thing about Vivo as a smartphone brand is that it has not tried imitate its counterparts like Xiaomi or Oneplus and has rather taken a very professional and well chalked out route of placing itself as a good smartphone brand. Although, many would argue about the fact that in a market like India where Xiaomi is going rock solid, is it worthwhile for a new brand like Vivo to battle it out in the world’s second largest smartphone market? Well, the answer is simple. Even Nokia and Motorola were big players when Samsung made its entry into India, but today it is an undisputed leader in terms smartphone sales.
Coming back to Vivo, it recently launched the much-awaited V5s with some really good features and an affordable price of Rs. 19000. Basically, Vivo’s V5s is launched as a selfie-centric smartphone with a humongous 20-megapixel front snapper that promises to give photos quite unimaginable from an audience perspective. The craze of the selfie has actually grown amongst the youth of India since the time phones with front cameras were launched. Although, many psychologists term such a thing as destructive, but then for a smartphone brand its a blessing directly from god. The recent TVC campaign of Gionee that focuses on the beauty of owning a phone that produces good selfies projected through a term called ‘Selfistan’ is actually a testimony of India’s smartphone users liking for phones with good front cameras.
Now let’s review Vivo’s V5s’ features one by one.
As usual for smartphones falling under the price bracket of Rs. 15000-20000, Vivo V5s has a metal unibody that adds quite a good amount elegance and style to the overall look and feel of the phone. It seems that Vivo just wanted to play safe and not try anything unique in terms of making the smartphone more acceptable and likable.
Vivo V5s comes with a 5.5-inch 720p display with a PPI of 267 along with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Although, it is a bit disappointing to see a Rs 19000 phone not having a Full HD display, but the color representation and the viewing angles are quite for a 720p display
With a Mediatek MT6750 Octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz along with Mali-T860MP2 GPU and a massive 4 GB RAM, Vivo V5s provides a delightful experience for gamers who are accustomed to playing high-graphic games.
